The Kessil AP9X LED represents the culmination of Kessil’s most advanced lighting technologies, combining redesigned LED chips, refined optics, enhanced thermal management, and powerful new software with built-in WiFi connectivity. Designed for mixed reef aquariums, the AP9X delivers exceptional spectrum blending, deep PAR penetration, and wide, even coverage without the need for diffusers.

Renowned for industry-leading multi-chip LED technology, Kessil continues to set the standard with its patented Dense Matrix Array, providing natural shimmer, superior color mixing, and a true point-source lighting effect that closely mimics sunlight on a natural coral reef.

Dense Matrix Array – Industry-Leading Color Blending

The AP9X features two redesigned Dense Matrix LED arrays, each packing 55 LED chips into an area smaller than a quarter. With 110 LED chips total, the AP9X achieves unmatched color mixing with no disco-ball effect and no diffuser required.

The latest Dense Matrix design places LEDs closer together than ever before, producing:

• Brighter single point light source

• Improved spectrum blending

• Enhanced shimmer similar to metal halide lighting

Redesigned Optics & Wide Coverage

Advanced optics provide uniform light distribution across large aquariums:

• Maximum coverage: up to 48” wide

• Effective PAR depth: up to 30” below the surface

This balanced spread minimizes hotspots and replicates the look and performance of a metal halide / T5 hybrid system.

PAR-Efficient Lighting for Coral Health

Rather than inflating total PAR numbers, the AP9X focuses output on the most biologically important wavelengths:

• 425nm (Violet)

• 455nm (Royal Blue)

More efficient LED chips and improved thermal management reduce wasted energy, delivering more usable light to corals with the same power consumption.

Advanced Spectrum Control with True UVA

In addition to Kessil’s signature Tuna Blue spectrum, the AP9X provides full access to individually adjustable color channels:

• Red

• Green

• Purple (Violet + Indigo)

The integrated 395nm True UVA LEDs enhance coral fluorescence and pigment expression. Kessil Logic ensures cosmetic color adjustments never compromise coral health.

Built-In WiFi & Kessil Ecosystem Integration

The AP9X includes:

• Built-in WiFi control via the Kessil app

• 2 × K-Link ports

• 2 × 0–10V control ports

A single AP9X can act as a wireless hub for:

• Up to 32 Kessil X-Series lights

• Up to 20 third-party 0–10V controlled lights

WiFi can also be disabled for wired-only control via K-Link or Spectral Controller X.

Ultra-Smooth Advanced Dimming

Simulate natural lighting cycles with precision dimming down to 0.1% intensity, including:

• Gradual sunrise and sunset
