Why Nitrogen Matters

Nitrogen is one of the most critical nutrients for aquatic plants after light and carbon dioxide. It is essential for:

• Building amino acids and proteins

• Chlorophyll production for photosynthesis

• Plant hormones and nucleic acids

In aquariums, nitrogen comes from:

• Fish food and fish waste

• Organic decomposition producing ammonium

• Bacterial conversion into nitrate (NO₃⁻), the most usable form for plants

• Nitrogen deficiency can cause yellowing leaves, slower growth, and sometimes reddish coloration in plants.

Dosage Instructions per 100L Tank

Standard Dosing:

• Low Light Tank: 1.5g once per week

• Medium Light Tank: 3.0g twice per week

• High Light Tank: 4.5g three times per week

• Perform 30–50% weekly water changes for optimal results.

Advanced Users:

• 2.89g per 100L will provide:

  • 7.5ppm Nitrate (NO₃⁻)

  • 12.23ppm Potassium (K)
