Why Nitrogen Matters
Nitrogen is the second most required element for aquatic plants after carbon. It is a key component of amino acids, proteins, nucleic acids, plant hormones, and chlorophyll. In aquariums, natural nitrogen sources are often insufficient, especially in heavily planted layouts.
