Eucalyptus marginata, commonly known as Jarrah, is a majestic hardwood tree native to Western Australia. Its durable, woody seed pods naturally fall to the forest floor and are prized in aquarium and terrarium setups for their distinctive look and tannin-releasing properties.

These compact seed pods serve as excellent natural décor for aquascapes and shrimp tanks. Their rugged, textured surfaces promote the growth of biofilm — a vital food source for shrimp and small fish — while subtly tinting water with beneficial tannins.

Preparation & Usage

• Boil for at least one hour (or longer) to fully saturate and remove surface impurities

• As pods may float initially, hold them down during boiling or soak overnight after boiling

• Introduce slowly to monitor their effects on water parameters and aquatic life
