How to choose the best light for your fish tank?

Choosing the right aquarium light can be very confusing. Here are a few factors to consider when choosing your aquarium light:

1. Purpose - Marine, Planted Tank or just as illumination for fish only tank. Running too much light can lead to excessive algae growth so for a Fish Only tank, you should choose to run low powered lights such as Chihiros A Series, Aqua One, Aquael Leddy Series. Ecotech Marine Radion, Aqua Illumination Prime and Hydra, Kessil, Reef Factory Reef Flare, Orphek and Illumagic are really good for a marine tank. Chihiros and Aquael Leddy are perfect for planted tank.

2. Aquarium Depth & Width - The power capability and spread of each light are different. Generally, a 45cm deep can run with Low Powered LED while 60cm - 75cm deep tanks needs the High Powered LED.

3. Functions - some lights can be programmed and can be customised to suit your need.

4. Connectivity - some LED has a Wifi (Reef Factory, Red Sea and Orphek) or Blue Tooth (Illumagic, Ecotech Marine, Aqua Illumination and Chihiros) functions and can be controlled remotely.
